DHI hair transplantation is a modification of the FUE technique. In the FUE technique, hair follicles are extracted from the head by cutting a portion of the scalp and extracting the follicles from it manually and placing them in the area to be transplanted.

In DHI hair transplantation, hair follicles are extracted using a device called a micromotor without cutting any part of the scalp and without any surgical intervention. While DHI and FUE hair transplants usually complete between 2-8 hours, the exact time may vary depending on the number of hair follicles to be transplanted for people who will undergo hair transplantation.
